Cold Air Intake
We see many cars come into our shop with "Cold Air intakes" Most of these are not what they seem to be. We see alot of vehicles with the aluminum tubes and cone air filter, but they are just sitting there in the engine compartment. We affectionally call these “hot air intakes.” If you install one, make sure that the air filter is shielded off from the rest of the engine compartment. The whole idea of the system is to allow more and colder air to the engine. If the air cleaner is just sitting in the engine compartment (with the HOT engine), you are defeating the whole idea and would be better off remaining with the factory air cleaner assembly.
