European Auto Repair | European Auto Specialists | Tulsa, Ok

Here at European Autospecialist, our goal is to keep your vehicle in top shape: factory specifications or better. We have all the equipment necessary to perform all routine maintenance, and if necessary, major repairs including reprogramming of your vehicle's computers.

We are one of three shops in the state of Oklahoma that own GT-1: BMW's factory diagnostic computer. The other two are in the dealerships.

We make the effort to keep up with the dealerships, so we can offer you the same services without compromises. We also keep up with the latest technologies outside the dealerships.

When it comes to servicing, we retain a view of routine maintenance that relies upon tried and true methods. For example, if you drive a vehicle that is pre-1999, we recommend oil services at three months or 3,000 miles. If your vehicle is 1999 or newer, we only use synthetic oil, so you can schedule your service at five months or 5,000 miles.

Now, we know you have been told;

A)  The oil doesn't have to be changed that frequent, it'll last longer than that.

or

B)  You don't need to change the oil until the service interval says it's time to change the oil.

While it is true that synthetic oil does last longer than natural (or as we like to call it, dinosaur) oil, you need to consider the oil filter. Like any filter, it will only hold so much dirt before it can no longer act as a filter.

Please, PLEASE, do NOT follow your service interval lights. They will allow your vehicle to travel between 12,000 and 15,000 miles between oil changes.

We cannot give you the exact reasoning behind what you have been told, but we have our theories. What we CAN tell you, is what we have seen: oil filters that literally crystallize and deteriorate inside the oil filter container, and oil sludge build up that would make you think the engine is twenty years old and has a couple of hundred thousand miles on it. The pictures you see below are unfortunately typical of the engines we are seeing in the newer cars that are coming out of Dealership/Factory servicing.

We know how vehicle maintenance and repair can some times be a hassle. It's hard to find the time for maintenance, and breakdowns are always inconvenient. That is why we try to keep all the most common service and repair parts on hand in our parts department, so that we get your vehicle back to you as soon as possible.

You can rest assured that all the parts used for repairs and service on your vehicle are O.E.M. (Original Equipment Manufacture) or better.
